Description
Now it’s revealed what the Zwarte Piets really are! But, come on, you guys probably all already figured that one out. This seems to be a staple body horror trope of kids’ animation and it’s one that always gave me the willies when I was a young one. This is based in large part on The Care Bears in The Land Without Feelings, which was a really weird and upsetting cartoon if you see it as an impressionable youth. That cartoon was made in 1983, so it was just right in the last gasp days of that horrible 1970s nightmare aesthetic that swept through the animation industry for an entire decade and made every children’s flick into a traumatizing acid trip.
